Mr Malviya is a very knowledgeable, caring and passionate health professional who has given me the opportunity to be able to cycle and run, pain free, again.
For 10 years, numerous health professionals didn’t manage to ascertain what was causing my hip, abductor and glute pain. Once I was referred to Hexham and saw Mr Malviya et al, I was shocked, but relieved, when I was given the diagnosis of hip dysplasia. Mr Malviya provided me with reassurance, information and the confidence I needed to approach the required surgical operation to rectify my condition. The peri-acetabular osteotomy (PAO) is major surgery but having Mr Malviya and his fantastic team looking after you pre, during and post-surgery would instil confidence into anyone requiring this surgery.
Being diagnosed with hip dysplasia in my late 40’s was a concern. Another consultant didn’t believe in me as an individual and that I wouldn’t successfully cope with the PAO operation and the essential, copious amount of physiotherapy required post-surgery. Mr Malviya did believe in me as an individual and as a patient you can’t ask for anything more when you are having major surgery.
Without the diagnosis, belief, support and care I received from Mr Malviya and his team, I wouldn’t have been cycling 100+ miles at numerous sportive events or running half marathons just 2 years post PAO for my 50th birthday. More recently, at 52 years old, I completed my first ever half Lakesman triathlon (swim 1.2 miles, cycle 56 miles, run 13.1 miles -half a marathon) in 7 hours and 5 minutes.
My smile crossing the Lakesman finish line, along with the tears of happiness, are my thank you to Mr Malviya for believing in me and giving me my pain free life back.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend and thank Mr Ajay Malviya. After years of living with chronic pain, the positive results of his efforts and expertise has given me back the ability to walk without pain or restrictions. This can only be described as life-changing!
